Almost 20 VI83Alumni members attended this special gala where more than 2 individuals came forward to sponsor some of our members. Kudos mucos!*

This was a rare occasion indeed where the group that organized this special night was non other than the parents themselves; Band Booster Club(BBC). Read below on the invitation to this gala:

Band Booster Club(BBC) and Victoria Institution cordially invite your goodself to our 100 Years Gala Dinner to be held at the Grand Ballroom, Flamingo Hotel, Ampang, Kuala Lumpur on April 4th, 2010 at 8.00 p.m.

The Honourable Y.A.B. Tan Sri Muhyiddin bin Hj. Mohd Yassin, Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister who is also our patron will graciously be in attendance.

With the objective of setting-up a fund towards the up-keep and development of the bandsmen academically and musically, we are celebrating the 100th year of VICCB’s years of Glory. We seek your goodself’s contribution through the purchase of dinner tables.

The VICCB is one band that has won the most accolades internationally and in doing so has brought glory to the school and our beloved 1 Malaysia.

Dinner table costs are as follows:
a. Front row table (next to VVIP) RM 10,000
b. Second row RM 5,000
c. Third row RM 2,500
d. Subsequent row RM 1,500

Yes gang, as you can see from the photos some of our friends we’ve not met them for ages like our sahabat2; brother John, Othman, Datuk Meor, Azizul and many others. For your 411, actual 100 years VICCB was last year. Remember the celebration at the VIGreen many moons ago? You don’t remember…really? OK…maybe I did not write about it? Mmm…

But it’s ok bro, No prob. That why they have this gala so that we won’t forget, right?

I’m not very sure whether this was the first dinner VICCB BBC ever organize but I’m sure it was a successful one. I think there were about 400-500 guests(guesstimate #) attended this gala. All for one and one reason only; to help the VICCB raised fund for their future endeavor.

Excellent isn’t it? This great effort is an excellent way to bind the junior and senior band members. I think there are many Victorians out there who really care about VI Band but was not given the opportunity or could NOT get to the right channel to help VICCB. BBC, I believe is on the right footing to become independent.

In the near future, I hope BBC will continue to take bold steps to raise fund for VICCB. In addition, Victorians regardless senior band members(ex) or not should continue to help and support our great school band.
