OIL!!! 110 USD per barrel.
Panas bang. So what can we do as consumers? Don't know la. But, before anything let's understand the industry first. Beginning April 2008 we will have OIL 101 or introduction to oil industry. We will have write-up on history, upstream business, downstream business, the direction of the industry and finally how best to tackle this problem YO!
Walaubagaimanapun, as usual we need volunteers from members to do reseach and write up on this. We know there are many members that are interested to contribute especially those from the Oil industry. Interested? Right on YO! E-mail to moderator@vi83.com.
What? You think we NOT going to pay you for helping us with write-up etc..We're not cheap you. We've plan to give you 2 bottles of glory YO! (bottle size budu. Macam kat pasar Keramat tu...)
Selamat! VOTE VI83 YO!

Some slides I used in my recent presentation for people who have minimal knowledge on oil & gas. Page 7 is really the essence of it all. It's all about supply and demand. Fact is we have increasing global demand with global supply not being able to catch up as fast. I dont believe this imbalance will be addressed within the next 3-5 years, in the long run maybe so.
OPEC countries pretty much provides the global crude oil supply ~ stands for Oil Producers Exporting Countries, but did you know Indonesia is a member of OPEC but yet in recent years it has become a net importer of oil?
How best to tackle this problem? At macro level, increase the supply of crude. I know there is focus on alternative energy ~ solar is good, biotechnology is not really making any impact in the long run except causing the price of these commodities to increase as a result of supplies being diverted towards bio fuel needs.
At the micro level for the average Joe? Tough ~ energy conservation would help to cut down expenses but need to make sure your income grows at least in line with inflation level ha ha ha......
